This article tells you how to make, copy and move work sequences.
Work sequences
A work sequence is created from consecutive work packages. The job queue determines the order in which jobs are done in each location. The work queues are specific for each type of location and, for example, apartments and common spaces have their own work sequences, because the work that takes place in them is different.
Creating a work sequence in Takt view
- Click on Gantt hierarchy symbol in Takt view.
- Select the Select work package .
- Select the sum work package you want to add the work sequence to. For example, for interior phase you would select the ”Interior phase”.
- Add the work packages to the work sequences by adding the to the same row.
Copying a work sequence to another location
- Select the first work package of the work sequence.
- Press down shift and select the last work package in the work sequence.
- Copy the work sequence by pressing ctrl+c.
- Move your mouse to the location and timeslot you want the work sequence to start from and press the clipboard symbol.
- Repeat the process for all the other areas you want to copy the sequence to.
- Press esc to free the selection.
Copying work sequences to every location in a view.
- Select and copy the work sequence ctrl+c.
- Click the first location and time where you want the work sequence to be with the right side of the mouse. Choose the Paste diagonally
Here is an example, where the chosen schedule view includes only apartments and where a work sequence is pasted diagonally to all apartments.
When viewing a different schedule view which includes all locations, you can see that the work sequences are copied only to the apartments while the other locations are left empty.
Making changes to multiple work packages at a time
Method 1. Selecting adjacent work packages
- Select the first work package.
- Select while pressing shift, the bottom package on the left.
- Select while pressing shift, the package on the right.
- Move or stretch the selected work packages by moving or stretching one package.
Method 2. Select similar packages
- Right click any of the packages you want to select.
- Select the Select similar.
- Choose a criterion by which the work packages are chosen.
- Move or stretch the selected work packages by moving or stretching one package.
Method 3. Select all the following or all the previous work packages on the same row.
- Right click the first or last work package.
- Select the Expand selection.
- Choose either To subsequent packages or To previous packages.
- Move or stretch the selected work packages by moving or stretching one package.
