Location breakdown and schedule views

In Sitedrive, a schedule can be viewed from different schedule views by creating different location breakdowns.

By creating different location breakdowns from the space model, we can view the schedule from different perspectives. You can choose which locations you want to see in each schedule view.

With location breakdowns, we enable different levels of accuracy for different purposes. For example a floor level accuracy might be good for a master schedule, but when you want to schedule work tasks, you might want to see the schedule on a more detailed level, such as by apartment. Sitedrive will automatically create 4 different location breakdowns for you. You can choose to use one of these or to create your own.

When creating a new schedule view, we can select a location breakdown that is suitable for certain work phase. For example, if we want to schedule the interior phase of the building B, we remove the whole building A from the location breakdown. This allows us to create a schedule view where we can view the areas in the building B at an apartment level.

How to edit or make a location breakdown?

Sitedrive automatically creates you 4 different location breakdowns:

  • apartment/zone level,
  • floor level,
  • section level and
  • smallest space -level locations.

These four location breakdowns are symbolised by the lock symbol. These location breakdowns include all of the spaces and they cannot be edited.

You can either make a new location breakdown by clicking on the Create Location Breakdown button, or you can copy an existing breakdown by pressing on the 3 dots on the right and selecting Clone

When making a new location breakdown it will firstly ask you to name it. The name should tell you what the breakdown includes. In the next example, we are making a location breakdown that includes only apartments, so we sill name it "Apartments only"

After pressing Create, a window opens with the location breakdown on the left and the buildings's physical spaces on the right. By removing areas from the left side, we can remove the spaces that we don't want to be shown in the schedule view.

Remove the location by pressing the trash bin symbol.

The space that was linked to the deleted location will appear on the right side.

Remember to press Save.

Now you can create a new schedule view that focuses solely on the work done in the apartments. To do this, select "Schedule Views" from the menu on the left. Click on "Add." A new window will open. Give the view a name, such as "Apartments," and choose "Apartments only" from the Location Breakdown dropdown menu.

You can also create other schedule views that are focused for example on specific floors, common areas, or starwells.

On the Schedule Views page, above the name of the selected view, it will indicate when the chosen view includes all spaces from the space model. With such schedule views, you can create tasks for all areas, while also having the option to exclude certain spaces from the location breakdown as needed.
