Locking the schedule

This article tells you how you can prevent accidental edits by locking the editing from yourself.

Version history and the undo button help you reverse mistakes, but if you want to prevent them altogether, you can lock editing for yourself. This way, you can view the schedule without accidentally moving work packages or changing any information.

You can prevent accidental edits by locking the schedule view. When the schedule view is locked, it becomes read-only and you cannot modify tasks, timings, or dependencies until you unlock it again. Use the lock icon in the toolbar to toggle this on when you are reviewing or presenting a schedule and want to avoid unintended changes while navigating.

You can switch the lock on and off whenever you wish by clicking on the lock symbols in the top bar.

Please note that you can use editing lock to only lock your own editing. If you want to restrict other users from editing the schedule, we recommend you use different access rights levels.
