Quantity-based scheduling from the bill of quantities

By using the bill of quantities, the item's quantity information can be imported into Sitedrive, and scheduling them with precise consumption rates enables an accurate quantity-based schedule

Quantity based scheduling is currently available on some job sites. If this feature has not been activated for your company account and you are interested in it, please contact support@sitedrive.com.

In quantity-based scheduling, the duration of tasks is calculated based on the quantities and consumption rates entered into the system.

Before implementing quantity-based scheduling, the project phase must include work packages at the line item level that are intended to be scheduled according to these quantities and consumption rates. There is no need to categorize work packages by location, as this will be addressed during the quantity-based scheduling process, when quantities are distributed across locations.

Quantity-based scheduling from the quantity list

1. Navigate to the "Bill of quantities" page of the project phase.

2. Import the quantity list from Excel or manually enter the quantities. To import Excel click on the "Import" button

3. Align the columns of the quantity list to match the Sitedrive fields for code, name, quantity, and unit.

4. Review the column data. Sitedrive will notify you if any column is empty or if there are other issues preventing the import of the quantity list. You can proceed to import the list even if some information is missing by selecting the "Import selected quantities" option.

5. Select one or more rows from the quantity list that you would like to use to create tasks.

6. Create a task by entering the name, consumption rate, and team size.

7. Distribute the quantities across locations by clicking on "Spaces" and then "Assign to Spaces."

Select the spaces from the space model where the quantities will be allocated. The quantities can be divided either evenly based on the number of spaces or proportionally according to their area sizes.

Please note that the quantities must be specified with a precision of at least one decimal place in the quantity list for them to be distributed correctly across the spaces. If any quantity row contains more than one decimal place, you will need to adjust the value in that row accordingly.

8. Link a task to a work package. The tasks associated with the selected quantity rows will appear on the left side. Click on the tasks you wish to attach to the work package to select them. The selected tasks will be highlighted. By dragging the selected task onto the work package, it will be included along with its designated areas, and the work package will be scheduled based on the associated quantity and consumption rate.

The selected quantity has been successfully linked to the work package, and the duration of the work package has been calculated based on the quantity and consumption rate.

Repeat steps 5 to 8 for any additional quantity rows you wish to schedule from the quantity list.

Please note that in the Gantt chart, you can also adjust the duration of the work package using the "Planned Cost" column. The default planned efficiency is set at 100%. This is based on the understanding that consumption rates often include more than just the installation time. Therefore, when using precise consumption rates, we recommend scheduling tasks with consideration for variations in work productivity. In this case, the suggested efficiency should be between 70% and 95%.
